British households set to throw out nearly 200,000 tonnes of leftover food this Christmas

British households look set to throw out nearly 200,000 tonnes of food this Christmas - the equivalent of more than 6.6 million bins full of waste. Research, into 2,000 adults who celebrate the festive period, revealed they will be forking out an estimated £146 to stock their fridge and cupboards - but will end up binning £79 of that.
